In this ImpactBank: the Kickass Koach episode, I share a story about when a leader modeled direct communication for me and taught me the importance of letting go of being right so I could be effective.
When I was first learning to act on her feedback I thought the lesson was for me to be less direct when in fact it was about how I could be direct in a way that made my leadership approach effective.
Whether you are a pushover in leadership or more of a bully it won’t work—at least not well.
When you have done your preparation, acknowledged others and listened compassionately you will benefit from developing a direct communication style that is effective.
