Well-being adds value. Is overall #well-being in short supply?

In 2022 why not make it a priority. Perhaps it will offer an advantage.

Hosted by Roxanne "Rox" Bartel, this podcast in 2022 focuses on interventions, stories and reflections on how we can all expand our well-being and inspire the same in others around us.

Rox walks with her clients, offering an "all you could need" in coaching services at a flat monthly rate with the mission of expanding our individual and collective well-being.

Have you ever boldly spoken your truth and been shocked by the reaction? I was in a free flowing conversation recently when I, in a toss off comment, declared myself an ideologue: one who values ideas and theories as a way to learn and grow.

The reaction did make me wonder what I had said that was so upsetting to some of the participants, whose response signaled they saw it as a "gotcha" moment. No one wants to be misunderstood and I remember feeling a bit self-conscious in the moment. My discomfort cause me to engage in some personal reflection and I learned something as a result. I learned more about myself, what matters to me and about how to accept, even disrespectful reactions, in stride, and leverage them for my own learning.

As leaders you are vulnerable and how you respond to the reactions of others either closes down learning and conversation or opens it up. Being defensive and self-protective reduces the learning.

This week's Quick Tip: A leader of substance sees a challenge, even rebuke, as an opportunity to reflect and learn.

Next week's WQT (Winter Quick Tip); the Hint: are you feeling the legacy of your predecessor much like a thorn in your side?
