What's the difference between respecting a confident leader and trusting her?
While I don't reference the Hillary campaign in the States during this podcast, as I was thinking about it and writing my blog this week I couldn't help but see a reflection of my insights in what we are seeing in the Hillary vs. Bernie race in the US Democratic primary race.
We like confident and competent leaders - they make us feel safe. But what happens when we trust someone else in part because of their warm charm and engaging personable manner?
As a leader you want to be authentic - which garners trust AND you want to develop a balanced style that allows you to adjust as needed to the needs of your team and organization.
ImpactBank is in the business of coaching and mentoring the newly-minted leader who is committed to mastering the art & practice of leadership.
Thank you to all the regular listeners. A special thanks to Kimberly for all your enthusiastic support and advice; to Cindy, Sara, James, Brian and Glen for your direct and thoughtful feedback; to Augusta for the coaching (you really were kick-ass and I hear you in my head every week).
Thanks again to Greg and Rob for the Kickass Koach theme.
NEXT TIME: Part 7 of 7 and we'll be discussing the character strengths of Diligence and Openness. How to be open to new ideas and still able to productively attend to the details of today?
