ARE YOUR MEETINGS FULL OF TALKING HEADS?
Want to leverage your meeting time more effectively - after all in most organizations people spend a lot of time in meetings? While it may start with the quality of your preparation, the path or process you choose to host the conversation will determine the long term value of each conversation.
We started the series discussing PURPOSE, and the potential power in each meeting. Last week we explore the power of PREPARATION.
Today we will focus on the PATH or PROCESS. There is an art to conversation just as there is an art to hosting powerful meetings. When you have carefully prepared and personally honed your skills you will be amazed at what you can accomplish in almost any meeting.
A meaningful conversation isn't possible when we just use our meetings to download information. If you are guilty of doing this you are wasting the resources in the room and the cost is much higher than you likely realize.
The blog post offers supporting documentation including a review of the Things to Consider & Things You Can Do for the series. It now has three sections (one for each episode in the series) so there are more points for reflection and action steps for you to consider.
Learn more about what we do for our non-profit clients at ImpactBank HERE and ask about our special rates for non-profits and NGOs.
We are accepting applications for a PILOT where ImpactBank's ON YOUR MARK….™ signature system will be delivered testing a unique SOCIAL LEARNING component including a diverse set of leaders from the non-profit, for-profit and post-secondary sectors. Let us know if you are interested in being considered AND reach out for more information - HERE'S AN OUTLINE. The rates are commensurate with it being a pilot.
Thank you to all the regular listeners. A special thanks to Kimberly for all your enthusiastic support and advice EVEN THOUGH YOU RECENTLY ASSURED ME YOU DON'T LISTEN TO PODCASTS; to Olivia, Emily, Sara, Susanne, Brian and Alan for your direct and thoughtful feedback; to Augusta for the coaching (you really are kick-ass and I hear you in my head every week).
Thanks again to Greg and Rob for the Kickass Koach theme and bridge music.
Next Time: The 3rd "P" - Practice - the progress you see between meetings is the best indication of the power of your meetings - for meetings to be an advantage to your team or organization you need to follow the progress.
Don’t miss it….Until next Friday, Make it a kickass week!
