Your inner critic—what have you named her? How friendly is she? Does she protect you from making mistakes? Is she a good reminder not to get too ‘full of yourself’?
Your Inner Critic holds you small. She wants to keep you in your comfort zone because THERE she has control. She may have grown out of the voices from your childhood. Those voices and influences who told you how to be a good little girl.
Being a good girl has never served you—EVER. It has held you down. Made you compliant and even sometimes turned you against other women. You do not have to be against ANYONE in order to move yourself to your full potential.
In the podcast I encourage you to notice—JUST notice how she is talking to you, when she speaks up and the messages she brings. Once you have become more aware of her, I then encourage you to start paying attention to the habits you have formed because of her messages. If you are willing to journal about your day, it will help you a great deal. Habits are part of the comfort zone and they become deeply engrained—to the point that we move through life governed by habits without realizing the impact they are having.
Before we know it our mindsets are more fixed, our beliefs are more limiting and we lack clarity about our own values. In August I will be starting a series on Mindset—among other topics I will explore why brains and talent don’t bring you success AND how they might even get in the way!
