Well-being adds value. Is overall #well-being in short supply?

In 2022 why not make it a priority. Perhaps it will offer an advantage.

Hosted by Roxanne "Rox" Bartel, this podcast in 2022 focuses on interventions, stories and reflections on how we can all expand our well-being and inspire the same in others around us.

Rox walks with her clients, offering an "all you could need" in coaching services at a flat monthly rate with the mission of expanding our individual and collective well-being.

Your brain can either support you or sabotage you - your choice!

Today we explore 3 adaptations that helped people, as a species, survive. Yes there was a point in our history when it was in question and we needed to adapt or perish.

NOW, in today's world these same adaptations can sabotage you. Successful people, great leaders seek to recognize them and mitigate any damage they can do and in time learn to leverage them to achieve great things.

  • Adaptation #1: Emotional pain, including social rejection, is experienced as if it is physical. A broken leg and being last picked on the playground registers the same way in the brain.
  • Adaptation #2: Your brain defaults to social; your need to belong is the strongest motivator to action.
  • Adaptation #3: Our malleability is what keeps us bonded to our tribe AND what keeps us from seeing people different from ourselves as adding value. Our malleability means bias is a default we need to systematically counter. BIAS BLINDS US!

This week's Quick Tip: Being aware of our most fundamental drives allows you to recognize when they are sabotaging you and the performance of your team, and to them harness those same drives to achieve greatness.

Next week's WQT (Winter Quick Tip); the Hint: when did being ideological become a bad thing?
