We receive feedback differently when we solicit it.
Knowing this as a leader must make you think differently about the giving of feedback. What if we've been doing it all wrong.
Yes as you develop in expertise and even life experience you see around corners more effectively and your advice and support and even feedback become more valuable AND YET there are limitations.
One limitation is whether the receiver is able to hear the feedback. We've recently had a major push against elitism and expertise - to our own folly I suggest BUT it may be an opportunity we need to heed. Consider your approach to feedback and find more balance possibly?
As of next week the corresponding weekly posts on my website start again. I ALSO plan two additional posts per month revisiting each of the QTs from July and August 2017.
